Vintage Modern Entryway Update

vintage modern entryway

You may have noticed on Instagram that our entryway got a little makeover recently. It wasn’t the worst looking entryway, but I also didn’t love it.  I went back and forth for months trying to find the right pieces. I wanted something that didn’t take up too much space both physically and visually, plus it had to work with the cool tones of the wallpaper and the warmer wood stain on the bench. During this time, I figured out what makes a great entryway and I started a mood board and went shopping.

I always search for vintage items first and then look for modern dupes if I can’t find what I need after a lot of searching. I have lusted after this console table for a while and decided it was the right piece for our entry.  I swapped out our vintage brass bamboo mirror for something a bit more french country. I know it’s so different than what I normally love, but I think the mirror works perfectly here – especially the scale.

The only piece that’s left is I want a large green vase to replace the black one. I love color and this space is calling for a pop of it. It’s such a specific piece that I have in mind, but I know I will come across it at the flea market soon enough.
