I’m a vintage leather skirt and striped tee addict and I cannot lie. I have six vintage leather skirts – all black – but I still come home from the thrift store with yet another one to add to the mix. Why? Because I wear my leather skirts in rotations all. year. round. A good leather skirt works with every type of look, for almost any occasion, and is anything but basic. I love pairing mine with chunky sweaters in the winter or sandals and a tank for summer – remember when I pulled it off preggo? My favorite combo is a classic striped tee and leopard heels for a lunchtime outing.
My go to styles are pencil, mini, a line, pleated, and midi. You don’t have to go out and buy all of these styles. Instead, figure out which is most figure flattering for you and then go shopping. If you work in a professional setting, a pencil or midi style works best with a crisp white shirt and boots. If you like to dress up your weekend casual outfits, then opt for an a-line or mini style to pair with a chambray or sweatshirt. A pleated skirt is great for a more fun and flirty date night look.
I shop at the thrift store for all of my vintage skirts (tip: shop in all sizes since leather skirts can vary in cut and fit). But if you’re pressed for time, shop some of my picks linked below or check out Etsy!
