Vintage Fourth of July Party

Since Alan and I bought our house a couple of years ago, we enjoy the spectacular fireworks show at the Rose Bowl.  Given the awesome show and view, we have to share it with our dear friends and family.   Last year, we hosted a fun gingham themed party and this year I’m throwing it back to a vintage Fourth of July theme.

I borrowed my sister’s house for a few hours and my adorable niece Victoria to share some of my inspiration for our upcoming party.  I brought vintage Coke crate and soda bottles, vintage suitcase, vintage glassware, and a radio flyer.  I added bougainvillea and baby’s breath for a softer touch.  A vintage themed Fourth of July party doesn’t have to be complicated.  Bring together your favorite pieces and add touches of burlap, mini flags, and a festive banner, and you’re done!

A classic drink like a rum and coke (with a twist) is a great drink for a vintage inspired fete.  I love Captain Morgan Pineapple Rum (yup, it’s delish) mixed with Coke; serve it in a vintage inspired soda bottle with a festive straw.  For the perfect flavor balance, mix 1.5 oz of Captain Morgan Pineapple Rum with 7 oz of Coke.

I hope this has inspired you to celebrate America’s Independence Day in style.

Where did you find the ice cooler and glassware?

Hi Kimberly. I found them at a thrift store in Pasadena. They are vintage and designed by Georges Briard. Definitely check Etsy for his ice buckets and glassware – they are beautiful!
