My late Uncle was the fashion icon of our family (he even outdid my Mom!) and would always love it when I went all out with bright colors. As I was getting dressed, I immediately thought of him and what he would say. I then remembered a gift he had given me for my birthday when I was a little girl, a gold ring with a small pink garnet after my birth month. I remembered putting the ring on my finger and admiring it all weekend long and showing it off to my little sister. It finally came off the following Monday when I had to go to school – that was the last time I put on the ring. This morning, I just had to wear it. I struggled to get it on my ring finger (naturally, since it was sized for an 8 year old), but I finally did with lots of effort and lotion. It turned a somber moment alone in my closet into an uplifting day for me. It’s interesting how an outfit can take you back years and bring back so many memories, I’m glad that today’s memories were filled with someone I love.
Please keep those that have been affected by Sandy in your thoughts and prayers.

I was just going to comment on your delicate rings. That's such a sweet gift and it's nice to reflect on those whom have passed before us. And it's even better when you can look back and smile. 🙂 I love those pants and I think you look fabulous in that color! Have a great holiday! <3toni
