I recently snagged this fabulous sweater skirt on clearance from Barneys (in store) – it was ridiculous clearance (like Forever 21 prices!). So of course, I had to wear it as soon as possible for girls’ night out. Although I wanted to keep the look simple with a striped tee and neutral sandals, it definitely needed an edge that only a black leather motorcycle jacket can bring to an outfit. In my younger, yet still fashionable years I must say, I was hesitant to mix browns/tans with black. I’m not sure why I felt this way, even though I always knew I did not want to match my bag to my shoes (a fashion tip I had picked up reading a French style book). Fortunately, I’ve left that novice fashion girl behind and mix it up as much as possible. Were you hesitant to take fashion risks when you were younger?

Very cute mix! I wasn't ever hesitant to wear anything but I never liked brown and black or brown and blue or even stripes for that matter. I realized it it ridiculous to say "absolutely not" to anything because depending on how you style it and the trends anything can have it's moment and make me fall in love! Even matching you bag and shoes..I have done a monochrome look with ALL red and I LOVED it ;)Have a great one!Sheree xxx
It's amazing how throwing that fab leather jacket over your top and skirt just instantly gives it this uber chic vibe…love the stripes!<3 Cambriajupefashion.blogspot.com
I love that skirt! It fits you perfectly and I really love the striped tee and leather jacket with it. Man, when I was younger, I don't think I had a clue about fashion. It was the 90s and early 00s. LOL. But I've always loved shopping even if I didn't always look the best. 🙂 <3toni
