I’m in the midst of trying to define a home office as I sit in my makeshift office: the sofa in the living room with my dog hanging next to me. It’s the most comfortable spot in the house and perfectly situated in front of the TV and a few short steps to the kitchen. It’s all things wonderful, but results in quite unproductive days. Setting up my home office has been on my to-do list but I’ve managed to add and check off other items on the list in the last year (and here I thought I was being unproductive!). As they say, I final hit the breaking point a couple of months back and at about the same time I teamed up with the genius team at BoConcept to create a home office that is productive and totally easy on the eyes.
If you’re not familiar, BoConcept is a Danish company designing customized, coordinated modern, and affordable furniture for the urban-minded customer. Think sleek modern furniture that you can and will want to use. BoConcept is all about making design, furniture and colors come together at home without the complexity of designing or decorating a space. Plus, if you need someone to bounce your ideas off, BoConcept’s interior decorators are at hand. They are able to complete any scheme, ranging from one piece of furniture, single rooms and small apartments to big houses and corporate spaces. Their team will help you design, layout, and handpick items that you know will work in your home, fit your aesthetic, and stay functional.
In the next month, I’ll be transforming our upstairs
storage space den into a home office that will serve as the A Vintage Splendor headquarters, plus accommodate the Mister’s work space too. I shared my home office inspiration a few weeks ago, but here’s snapshot of some of the design elements I’m thinking of incorporating into my office. Plus, head over to BoConcept and check out their office furniture and play around with the 3D Model tool – it’s addicting!
I’m in a pretty similar situation! I usually blog from my kitchen table/desk/everything table and it’s hard to keep focused sometimes since the kitchen is so close and I have a direct view of the television. I love the idea of really making your home office your own though. It would definitely help me to focus and get a lot more done. Can’t wait to see your new office soon, Annette!

I love the blue wall! I’d like to try and incorporate blue into my office, too!
