Neutral Holiday Table Setting

If you’re anything like me, you’re just a wee bit behind on some holiday decorating. We’ve got our tree and all of the gifts, but I haven’t given any thought to anything else! This is an easy and quick way to decorate for your upcoming holiday dinner. It makes use of simple white dinnerware and napkins, gold flatware, and fresh greens. I picked up fresh eucalyptus and rosemary from the store and used that as the centerpiece. Add in some shatterproof ornaments and you’re ready to entertain!

Here are some tips for last minute table setting ideas:

Stick to the basics. Basic doesn’t have to mean boring. If you have all white dinnerware, this gives you the opportunity to add in color with napkins or a table runner. Plus, sticking with what you have will eliminate the stress of going out to buy new items.

Green is in. Greenery is the easiest way to amp up your holiday decor and table setting. Eucalyptus (seeded, silver dollar and baby blue) are great for creating a centerpiece.  Rosemary, thyme, and even citrus greens/leaves make beautiful embellishments to your table setting.

Mix it up. An easy way to elevate your table setting is to mix together new with old. Bring out your grandma’s china and add in modern flatware or glasses. This juxtaposition helps keep the decor fresh and not boring.

Set the mood. Easiest way to set the mood is with lighting and candles!
