How to Style a Bar Cart for the Holidays

glam bar cart for holidays

The holidays are just about the best time to entertain whether it’s an intimate get together or a festive soiree. Any time I’m planning a little fete, I pull out my vintage goodies so I can entertain with ease and sleigh the holidays.

A bar cart is a must-have for every home since it serves as a decorative piece and full functional bar which is perfect for parties. Bar carts are having a moment right now, so you need one for this holiday season. This brass and lucite bar cart meets my standard of vintage meets modern aesthetic with its beautiful shape and mix of materials. Trust me when I say you will style up this bar cart so many ways it’ll be the equivalent of your favorite vintage jeans.

Now if you’re like me and enjoy themed parties and entertain a lot, you like to have options, many options. This is why I love a classic bar cart because it’ll work for every type of party you’ll be hosting this holiday season and beyond.

Glam Bar Cart

For a more glam party, I love the idea of bringing in lush red flowers and lots of natural greens. I also tried to mimic the look, the feel, and colors of my sequin cocktail dress. Why not dress up your bar cart to be your party twin?

The Kate Spade Raise a Glass collection is the perfect touch for anything glam, so I opted for the cocktail shaker and ice bucket. I always love to have a bottle of champagne chilling for guests and this ice bucket works as a wine chiller – win! Plus, adding these twinkle lights reflect beautifully on the mirror shelf and the gold dot pattern.

Always dress up your bar cart with flowers, especially when you’re entertaining. For a glam look, opt for simple, yet elegant bouquet. I matched the flowers to the signature cocktail (cranberry sparkler). I like to greet guests with a cocktail when they arrive to the party, which is why I love this tray.

Casual Cool Bar Cart

If you’re hosting a more casual fete, but still want everything to look 100%, definitely style up your cart. It’s the little things that will wow your guests and help set the tone for fab party.

For starters, if you’re ever in doubt, add a disco ball! It’s fun, it’s festive, and it says it’s time to party. I added in vintage Christmas books to prop up the punch bowl which I used as a champagne chiller.

Make a batch of a special cocktail ahead of your party and make it the signature drink for the evening. I love adding a pitcher of the cocktail on the bar cart so guests can help themselves. This copper cocktail shaker keeps cocktails cold so you can shake up a cocktail, converse with guests and then pour out the perfect cocktail. These cocktail glasses work for all sorts of drinks and are my go-to for many parties.

When it comes to placement, your bar cart should be at the center of the room so it encourages people to mingle throughout the party, but it also makes it a focal point of the party so guests have easy access.
