Detroit Travel Guide

detroit travel guide what to do in detroit

When I told people we were heading to Detroit, the question I was asked repeatedly was, “Why?”. It’s where Alan went to college and it’s one of the American cities that has been on my list of places I want to see. After the great recession, everyone said Detroit was dead. I’m here to tell you that she is alive and booming. If you’re looking for a low-cost and interesting weekend getaway, add Detroit to you list. We found it to be walkable in most areas and also used public transit (Alan is an Urban Designer so we always checked out the transit system everywhere we go).

I want to thank my friend Chelsea for so many of these recommendations. We hit up all of the spots on her list and I can’t wait to go back to Detroit!
