Boho Chic Navy and Pink Bedroom

boho chic navy and pink bedroom

When looking at pin-worthy bedrooms, the same bedroom kept popping up: white walls, white sheets, fiddle fig tree in the corner, and perhaps a vintage kilim rug at the foot of the bed. I love that look, but I really wanted to create a relaxing bedroom that felt like us. That meant painting the one wall in a deep and saturated navy tone (blue is my favorite color) and adding soft textures and tones. That’s how we ended up with a boho chic navy and pink master bedroom, although we had started out interested in a scandinavian minimalist space!

Despite what many people say and think, a dark color in a small space can work and can actually make your space appear larger. #mindblown

I had been searching high and low for the perfect washed linen sheets. They aren’t the cheapest nor are all of them the softest. You could say I was looking for a unicorn: inexpensive and luxuriously soft! During one of my late night research ventures online, I came across this duvet set at H&M. The price blew me away and for under $100 I ordered it and took a chance. I was not disappointed and anyone who has seen it, wants it. I bought additional pillow cases and sheets and our bed was complete. And yes, Alan likes the pink duvet!

The side tables were a deal and an early find from one of my haunts, Sunbeam Vintage. I think I bought them when we were still in escrow on our house! I love the “x” detailing on the top and they were only $200 for the set. The lamps were another lucky find that I couldn’t pass up. The lamps are huge and finding the right shades for them took a bit of work, but I found these burlap ones on a random website and knew they were meant to be.

The pink runner is a flea market find and it was one of those trips when I wasn’t looking for anything but came home with a bunch of items. I was trying to snap a picture of the runner for my Instagram (as one does) and the vendor told me, “I’ll make you a deal!” I said, “Thanks but I’m just looking.” He then said, “I’ll give it to you for $100.” I said, “I’m just looking, not interested in buying anything today.” He kept lowering his price until he came down to $35. I said okay, but when I opened my wallet, I realized I only had $22 dollars on me. He said that was fine and I walked away with this pretty pink vintage kilim!
