Being the hostess with the mostess is something my Mom passed down to me and I’m so glad that she did. While other sulk at the idea of planning, decorating, and hosting a party, I love it! I enjoy planning the details, decor, menu, guest list and every other detail that makes a simple concept into a memorable gathering with friends and family. I was so excited when Elizabeth asked me to stop by her place and help create a traditional, glamorous Thanksgiving centerpiece and table setting for her family dinner. We had fun and didn’t complicate the process at all – in my opinion, the two requirements when planning and setting up for a party! See the details and some tips for planning a beautiful dinner party.
Glamorous Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas
Tip: I always want to start with flowers and create multiple arrangements in a variety of sizes. If you have several glass vases that don’t match, not a problem! This allows you to create different sized arrangements and help elevate the centerpiece. I love mixing large, medium, and mini arrangements throughout the centerpiece.
Tip: Before you commit to setting 8 – 10 table settings, try a few options with one place setting on the table. Try different napkins, placements, and glassware to find the look you love best. Setting on the table also gives you the opportunity to match with the centerpiece and ensure there is enough room on the table for guests to dine comfortably.
Tip: I love to add an unexpected and natural element to every setting. Rosemary makes a great add-on to napkins, plus it smells so good! It’s a beautiful way to decorate a glamorous Thanksgiving tablescape.
Tip: Elizabeth and I added messages of gratitude in the centerpiece for an unexpected touch. A simple gesture like this tells your guests thank you, but is also a great way to kick off dinner and allow guests to share what they are most thankful for.
Tip: Add in the floral arrangements after you set the table to ensure there is enough room for guests to comfortably sit and dine. The different sized arrangements allow you flexibility in filling in gaps and ensuring the table is balanced.
Tip: The most important tip? Plan, decorate, and party with a friend! You can’t do it all on your own and it’s important to have your Elizabeth by your side to make the process fun, enjoyable, and memorable. I hope you enjoyed these glamorous Thanksgiving tablescape ideas.
Happy Thanksgiving!
