There’s Something About Fuchsia

Have you ever fallen in love with a dress at first sight and dreamt about it non-stop? You too? I’m glad I’m not alone. My friend Heather, owner of We Move Vintage, shared this beautiful dress on Instagram months ago. I loved it but I really don’t need another vintage gown in my closet (I have about 15 and it’s 14 too many in all honesty). But this one haunted my dreams…in a good way! The fuchsia color, gorgeous silk pleat details, and that sweatheart neckline! Gah!  I thought about it for awhile and finally decided I needed it for my cousin’s upcoming wedding. Heather was nice enough to bring it to my house for me to try on. It fit me perfectly and I had to do twirls around the house just to make sure it was perfect – trust me, it’s perfect.

Flash forward a few weeks and Stefanie and I drove down this street and saw these beautiful trees in blooms. We looked at each other and knew this was the spot to shoot this dress. I showed up the next morning at 6:30AM to get the shot. While we were shooting, the sprinkles for the building next door came on and I had a mini freak out. This is one dress that should not get drenched by sprinklers. The lovely early risers walking their dogs and getting their excersice on got a kick out of our little shoot and I have to say that early morning call time was well worth it.

I’m wearing vintage Saks Fifth Avenue dress, Miu Miu heels, and vintage lucite bag.
