The Art of Coffee

When you think of poolside drinks in Palm Springs, coffee doesn’t come to mind immediately.  But for me, coffee is how I start every single day, whether I’m poolside, enjoying the view from a skyrise, or laying in bed flipping through magazines.  I like to give myself a few quiet moments every morning before the rush of the day rolls in – it’s me time with a side of coffee.  I’ve recently started working from home (more on that later!) and my trips to the coffee house are becoming less frequent.  I’m the barista around here and I’ve been enjoying the morning ritual of grinding my Starbucks coffee to brew a fresh cup of  House Blend and breakfast treat.

I like to keep my coffee simple (black with no add ons), but I’ve started experimenting with my iced coffee as the weather is warming up.  I like to brew my coffee as I typically do and will freeze some in ice cubes and refrigerate the rest.  When I’m ready for a cool pick-me-up, I add the ice cubes, coffee, and a dash of coconut milk. So good!

Coffee is how Jason and I start our days as well! Even in the dead heat of Palm Springs, there is nothing like sitting outside just before the heat becomes unbearable and sipping on a morning coffee.
