Raspberry French 75

raspberry french 75 cocktail recipe

I may be 31 weeks preggo, but that doesn’t mean I’m not shaking up cocktails (for hubby and friends, of course).  I usually opt for sparkling water with lemon in a cocktail glass these days. One of my favorite cocktails is the classic French 75 which consists of good gin, topped with champagne, lemon juice, and a lemon twist.   For Valentine’s Day, I decided to mix things up and create a festive French 75 that says je t’aime!  Raspberries are the perfect compliment to gin and champagne and help give your cocktail a lovely red hue.

Raspberry French 75 Cocktail:

1 oz Tanqueray Gin

1/2 lemon, juiced

1/4 cup Raspberries

3-4 oz Champagne

1/2 cup of ice

Instructions: Smash raspberries in a small cup and pour 1 oz Tanqueray Gin on top and let sit for 1 hour.  Using a strainer, pour raspberry gin into a cocktail shaker and add lemon juice and ice.  Shake mixture then strain into champagne flute and top with champagne.  Garnish with a lemon twist and a couple of raspberries.
