With Fourth of July just a few days away, I’m sure the inner hostess is still trying to find a signature cocktail that is festive, will wow your guests, plus keep them cool in this heat! If you’re anything like me, you’re also trying to find a last minute project to add a little wow factor to your decor. I have both covered and as I’m hosting a huge BBQ on Saturday, I guarantee both the cocktail and DIY are quick and foul proof.
Pineapple Sparkler Cocktail
For our BBQ, I’m going to be serving up a delish cocktail I like to call a Pineapple Sparke. It’s refreshing thanks to the soda, delicious thanks to the flavor combos, and is 100% festive. I always like to have a signature drink at all parties so it keeps the bartending and cocktail shaking simple. This cocktail is easy to make ahead in a pitcher and serve guests by adding ice and blueberries!
1.5 oz Captain Morgan Pineapple Rum
3 oz coconut flavored soda
3 oz cranberry juice
coconut flakes + blueberries for garnish
Dip glass in rum and coconut flakes. Mix all ingredients in cocktail shaker and pour into glass and add ice cubes and blueberries. Top off with a festive straw and sparkler stirrer.
Sparkler Cocktail Stirrer
Now you’re probably wondering about that sparkler stirrer. It’s a super easy DIY you can pull together in under 30 minutes with materials you have around the house. These stirrers are so much fun for the Fourth of July because they look like fireworks and dress up any old cocktail. I like to make extras for the kids for them to have during the fireworks show.
Materials:
Craft Glue – I prefer E6000
Scissors
Bamboo Skewers
Tinsel Garland
Step 1: Trim the skewers to the height of the glass. You want the skewer to be 1 inch longer than the glass.
Step 2: Put glue on the top 1/2 inch of the skewer.
Step 3: Cut about 2 inches of tinsel and adhere to the skewer. Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
