Our favorite neutral, leopard print, is back and in full force this season. Leopard was all over the runways shows this past NYFW and all the street style it-girls were wearing the coveted leopard print silk skirt. It’s always remained a wardrobe staple and it never really was off-trend, but it’s back and more fierce than ever.
I’ve always loved mixing leopard with bold colors or stripes, since to me, leopard is a neutral! I styled this one-shoulder leopard dress with an oversized blazer, croc belt, and nude heels. This is a classic look that will take you from the office to date night without much effort.
The print is all about making a statement so I’ve broken it down for three ways you can incorporate the trend depending on your comfort level. Whether you’re looking for vintage or modern pieces, or both, head to eBay. 81% of items sold on eBay are new and Buy It Now, which means no need to bid!
If you’re a minimalist or just starting out to try the trend, opt for pieces like a silk scarf which you can wear with a tee and jeans or a simple dress. A silk scarf will work double duty for you, since you can also wear it in your hair or tie on to a bag for a little flair. In addition to the classic leopard print, this season we saw the print in electric and bright hues and often mixed in with other prints and patterns, so try to venture out and try some variations.
The must have skirt this season is a leopard print silk skirt, but I’m still a fan of the dress. Either way, leopard print will work for you in any of your wardrobe dilemmas. If you’re opting for a silk skirt, pair it with a casual tee, booties and leather jacket. If you’re feeling dresses like I am, throw on an oversized blazer and you’re ready to go.
Go all out
If you’re like me and consider leopard a neutral, then, girl, you need to go all out. Try a leopard print coat over your vintage Levi’s and striped sweater, or if you work in a creative environment don that leopard print suit.
