How to Style a Vintage Tray

how to style a vintage tray

One of the most frequent things I am asked is, “I went to the flea market and picked up a cool vintage tray, now what?!” A vintage tray is one of the most versatile piece you can pick up at the flea or thrift store.  Not only does it help contain clutter (always a plus!), but it’s a stylish piece that adds color, texture, and pattern to any space.  If you brought home the vintage tray, your Mom would tell you it was a keeper!  I recently picked up this rattan tray at the flea for $3 and styled it 3 ways so you never have to ask how to style a vintage tray.

Bar

If you don’t have a bar area or bar cart, then use a vintage tray to pull together your glassware, liquor and other bar tools on a credenza.  It will keep your bar area contained and look stylish.

Vanity

A vintage tray is the perfect way to pull together your vanity.  If you’re anything like me, then you have perfume bottles, jewelry, hair ties, and other things scattered around the house. The tray keeps me organized and adds some beauty to the chaos that is my vanity.

Coffee Table

I use a variety of trays on my coffee table to add a dose of color and texture to the glass top.

I love this! I’m currently using my vintage tray on my vanity, but I love how you styled it for the bar.

I have this EXACT tray! I found it while thrifting and it was one of four. Like a fool I only got one and I have been kicking myself ever since! Love how you styled everything!
