Valentine’s Day for me has always been about friends and family, not about a fancy dinner at an overcrowded restaurant, chocolates, and flowers. Since I could remember, my Mom has always made my siblings and I Valentine’s day treats complete with a card. It’s one of the best memories that I have and even as a grown woman, it is something I look forward to every year.
I was so excited to host a Galentine’s Day get together with two of my favorite blogger gals Jamie and Rachael for some champagne, donuts, and Valentine’s Day card making. It was indeed a glam and fabulous get together with friends. In lieu of the usual girls’ night out or happy hour, a Sunday afternoon brunch for some old fashioned girl talk and crafts. Here’s how to host a fab soiree with your gal pals.
Food & Drink
A fabulous brunch or get together doesn’t have to be complicated nor overdone. A simple pairing of champagne, donuts, and bright berries makes any gal ga-ga. Sophia Champagne is always a good choice, with a mixture of pink glazed and powdered sugar donuts.
What to Wear
Part of the fun is dressing the part for a girls only Valentine’s Day celebration. Pink and red hues are an obvious choice, but I always love to add some sparkle. My pink and red rule applies to everything: clothes and make-up. You know I love a good bold lip and a bright red pout is an absolute must on the day devoted to love.
The Galentine Crafting
I’m a scrapbooking diva, I must admit, so I love a good crafting session. My sisters and I have been long time crafters (we love glitter) and I always like making a handmade card or gift for a special occasion. Jamie, Rachael, and I spent the afternoon after brunching making Valentines for our sweeties, friends, and family. We used embellishments, fancy paper, and doilies to make some sweet cards.
What I’m Wearing:
Lulu’s Sequined Top c/o | J. Crew Skirt | Jimmy Choo Anouk Pump

So much fun with you gals!! xoxo
Those valentine’s turned out super cute. What a fun day!
I need to get back into scrapbooking . Since I stopped my business ( http://www.bisous.biz) ( I used to manufacture scrapbooking supplies) I hardly ever do it. This makes me miss it.
