Hatted

trendy blanket scarf

I finally got into the holiday spirit this weekend as Alan and I cozied up and headed out for some holiday shopping, with a pit stop at LACMA (one of my favorite spots in LA).  We checked out Samouri: Japanese Armor, Haunted Screens, the Pierre Huyghe Restrospective which was by far my favorite. Alan didn’t care for it, but I love art that is not pretentious and relates to people from all walks of life, not just those educated in the arts.  Huyghe works outside of institutional structures and pushes preexisting mediums; the art changes with time and is unique to viewer.  This is an approach that has become integral to art in the 21st century and was my favorite type of artwork to engage for exhibitions during my tenure as a Gallery Director.  If you are in the Los Angeles area, I highly recommend stoping by LACMA to see the current exhibitions.

I love going to art galleries, although it’s difficult now with a 4 year old! I’ve never really studied art and can’t say what is “good”, but I do appreciate certain aspects and I think that’s what makes art so special. It is unique to different people in different ways. 🙂

Loveee the ripped jeans and that cozy scarf! You look lovely! <3
