Even though we’ve started the second week of January, I’m still trying to savour the remnants of the holidays. I put a plan of action in place as soon as the decorations come down to make that warm and cozy holiday feeling last! During the holidays, Alan and I love to swap our morning coffee with hot chocolate and hang out by the fireplace for hours on the weekends. It’s really not practical to do all year, so I change up our morning coffee recipe a bit to give us that dose of holiday splendor. I make a hot cocoa coffee that is equal parts strong (because we need that caffeine surge to get back to work) and sweet (because we want that cozy feeling, darnit!). It’s a great treat for the weekends, when you want to be indulgent without spending too much time in the kitchen.
Cinnamon Dolce Hot Cocoa Coffee Recipe
Makes 2 Servings
2 cups freshly brewed Starbucks® Italian Roast coffee
1/2 cup homemade whipped cream
Cinnamon for topping
Mix 1 packet of Starbucks® Cinnamon Dolce Hot Cocoa Mix with warm milk per instructions and divide evenly in 2 mugs. In a french press, brew 2 cups of Starbucks® Italian Roast coffee. While still warm, pour over hot cocoa leaving room. Top with homemade whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
